The North Face is a brand known for its great tent range, clothing range, footwear range and rucksack range. The brand was established in 1966, in San Francisco and the name comes from the north face of mountains in the northern hemisphere, which is generally the most challanging, iciest, coldest and dangerous face of a mountain to climb. The logo is believed to be inspired by Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. The North Face began as a mountaineering retail store in 1966. Since 1968 they have been designing and manufacturing their own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and camping equipment and are now one of the most recognised brands on the planet.
