Paul, CheapTents Tin Man
With less than a week to go the Liverpool Triathlon there were concerns within the CheapTents.com team on Monday, as to the well being of our veteran competitor and “Ace” (his own words) shop manager Paul. Loud creaking noises were to be heard on the shop floor which staff attributed to building fatigue. Unfortunately for Paul the creaking was only heard when he moved. He later admitted that he was feeling a little tender due to his training regime over the weekend of a big Chinese meal…….. oh yes, and some running, swimming and cycling. Although we are all sure that after a few days rest he will be back to normal, maybe we should oil his joints!
Paul is competing in the Olympic distance event and his wave will start between 8:30 and 9:00. This is his first triathlon of the year and he expects by the end of the season to have achieved a target time of around 2hrs 20m. Paul told CheapTents.com he is concentrating on Olympic Triathlons in order to build up endurance so as to compete in Iron Man events. Participation we are informed does rely on the good will of his wife who we are sure enjoys him being out training more than he does.
Martyn or is it Rocky?
Martyn on the other hand can not wait for the Triathlon his raw meat diet has worked and he has watched his collection of Rocky DVDs to motivate himself and get some final ideas. I Think maybe someone should tell him the idea is to beat his opponents to the line and not to a pulp!
Martyn’s Training in the last week has gone well and he is quietly confident he will achieve his target time. Having spoken to Martyn his enthusiasm for the event is obvious and he is looking forward to competing in the Sprint Triathlon which starts between 9:00 and 9:30.
Wait, there’s more!
Once the Liverpool Triathlon has been completed there is no rest for Martyn as he will literally jump back onto his bike to participate in the Manchester to Blackpool and back bike ride (July 12th). He will be hoping to raise money for his favourite local charities and I am sure he can depend on the support of the CheapTents.com blogging team, you the readers and the customers in our retail outlet, just so long as he doesn’t ask any of us to peddle!
Please continue to look for forth coming posts in the next few weeks about CheapTents.com’s particpation in the Liverpool Triathlon and Manchester to Blackpool bike ride.
